I've heard a lot of albums, but it always seems like there are only a few good songs on these albums and the rest are all filler.
I do agree about Deus Mortem though. It's basically the main guitarist/vocalist and drummer of Azarath, one of the best most brutalizing blackened death metal bands on earth. So I liked alot of this album, but some of the screams in certain passages sounded kind of stupid and silly, and some of those abrasive dissonant riffs didn't do much for me. But, god I love the organic production especially those drums. Recommended song: The Harvest
Voidhanger - Working Class Misanthropy (2/5 of Infernal War are in this band). You have to hear a Song for Lennon. Ferocious blasting awesomeness. This is basically a parody of Imagine by John Lennon but how the world truly is.. a vile disgusting cesspool.
Sage's Recital - Sage's Recital. (Really awesome power metal with a virtuoistic guitarist that rivals Yngwie. listen to the instrumental piece The Last Unicorn. Delicious. The album as a whole is okay, but this instrumental won't leave you.
Fleshgod Apocalypse - Labyrinth. This album had potential but is overly ambitious. The stupid operatic vocals did nothing for this album, they prolly coulda saved money not hiringthis bitch. Sometimes there was just too much going on and the music just loses you
(even if you are the most caustious listener). It did nothing for the music, and at times was laughable. But listen to the song Elegy. Furious blasting thrashing symphonic awesomeness. The operatic vocals are tolerable on this song too.
Inferno - Omniabsence filled by his presence. Black metal. Really solid album. Mostly blasting but very organic drums, and the vocals are excellent. Rivals any of the best, it has a cavernous quality to it, which lends really well to the music. They sound definitely more on the Death metal side, but overall its black. Recommended track: Revelations through the void.
