Bog Of The Infidel - Asleep In The Arms Of Suicide

I have mixed feelings about this USA black metal album. Net result: more good than bad.

But the album is not as good, or as pleasant to listen to, in the earlier half.. I almost set the album aside to try again later, as it didn't sound good. But I didn't...  And soon after, I was curious what was the cool music playing? This album, 3/4 finished.. I restarted it, and the same thing happened: it wasn't pleasant at first, but got better.

The music is good, increasingly as it plays, especially the guitar, which is quite extenuating considering it's black metal.. But the sound quality also is not great early on, gets better, yet doesn't get great... I don't think it's intended to sound precisely like this -- they needed a better sound guy, maybe..? Excepting the acoustic interlude near the end, the last several tracks are my favorites.

I would like a fresh new album from this group, were one to be conjured up... I could then call this one a pretty good demo.
