Since this is a dvd rip (not a dvd video) why are there vob files? The description says there should be mpeg files.

the moderator edited the format, i originally set it as "DVD Video" under format. but yes these are DVD vob files

So can I just burn the files to a disc and get a regular DVD as a result? The other "DVD Video" torrents I downloaded have a VIDEO_TS folder which contains vob files and bup/ifo files. This one has only vob files. Do they make a standard DVD disc nevertheless?

no you cant, but you can use these files with a DVD maker program, and the program will make the necessary VIDEO_TS and and bup files. but since this is vob you won't need to encode the video so it will only take a minute or two. https://www.winxdvd.com/resource/top-10-free-dvd-creators.htm

WinX DVD Author and DVDStyler are free windows programs that can do this. whether you wish to create a DVD menu or simply have them play automatically without any "DVD Menus" is up to you.
