If there is one word that best describes the music of Brisbane's Flynn Effect it would be powerful. Blending the never-fail rock arsenal of a thunderous rhythm section with a wall of guitar, blistering synths and a powerhouse vocalist, the band are capable of reaching an almost impossible velocity.
Surfacing as a live band in 2014, Flynn Effect have established themselves within their scene as a force to be reckoned with – delivering music with a theatrical flair. The band's debut album, 'Skin', was released in October of that year, serving as the perfect introduction to Flynn Effect and their unique sound. Stitching together styles that span decades of music, 'Skin' showed that the band didn't just have a throttle but also control and grace where needed... creating a diverse fabric of highs and lows, tempo changes, and hooks built upon sweeping western and eastern melodies.
Picking up where 'Skin' left off, their 2016 single 'All For Love' comes equipped with super-sized hooks and musical nuance alike; switching from one end of the rock spectrum to the other in a heartbeat. 'All For Love' shows the boundless potential that Flynn Effect wield – taking the band to the next level. The year saw the band perform alongside local heavyweights Osaka Punch and Darkcell, as well as support Italian fathers of gothic rock, Lacuna Coil.
June 9, 2017, sees the release of the band's first offering from their upcoming album Obsidian - Out August 4. "Fade" shows a more complex and experimental side of Flynn Effect, while the band promises a varied, interesting and emotional album, which sees them expand their sound and even throw in a western themed track, to confuse people, hopefully.
