The band was formed in late 1995. Gorthaur's first demo was recorded in 1996. In 1997 and 1998 the band performed at the Castle Party in Bolków, but already in another band. At that time they played a couple of concerts, and they performed in Wroclaw Television.
In 1999 the group suspended its activities. Gorthaur was reactivated in the same year, returning without acoustic percussion, but the first significant event took place in 2002, recording a demo of "Holy Lies", which brought them big publicity in Lower Silesia, resulting in a 2 place in the 2nd edition. Lower Silesian charts.
In 2006 the band recorded their first album "New Better Existence". The composition for the next 5 years also stabilized, ie Darek Dec (vocals), Marcin Rzeczycki (bass, guitars) and Krzysztof Witos (keys, samples). The album can also be heard in several tracks by Eliza Górecka, who has collaborated for some time with the band. With this album Gorthaur became recognizable throughout Poland. In the meantime, the band has a third performance at the Castle Party in 2010.
The second album had to wait until 2011. The album "Seasons" is released by Halotan Records. The album was long "pampered", but the final effect was staggering. This is the most professional material he has ever created and recorded by Gorthaur. The album is received very positively not only in our country but also abroad. Year 2011 ends with a very important event, guitarist joins Mariusz Dec.
The Album Seasons defines Gorthaur better and refined. A Trully RARE band for lovers...true gothic darkwave lovers !
