Rhea’s Obsession were a musical group from Canada, named after the Greek goddess Rhea (Rhea). Their music is a mixture of different styles, including gothic rock, darkwave, world music.
The first project of Rhea’s Obsession was the soundtrack to Tabulae Anatomacae Sex, an experimental dance film from 1995. After working on the music for the TV movie, they recorded Initiation in 1996. Two songs from the album, Cun Lacoudhir and Death by Moonlight, were used on the La Femme Nikita TV series (Her name was Nikita).
In 1998, the Rhea’s Obsession performed at Convergence, the annual North American Gothic festival.
During a tour in support of Initiation, Rhea caught the eye of Metropolis Records, which would later release their second album, Between Earth and Sky, as well as the reissued Initiation (Re: Initiation) in 2001.
