Apoptygma Berzerk is a Norwegian industrial rock band founded by Stephan Groth and Jon Erik Martinsen in 1986. In their music we can find the synthpop associated with EBM and futurepop, as a stylistic base, where they move safely between the strands.
The group has achieved moderate commercial success, and is considered one of the broadcasters of EBM and futurepop. His music is a mixture of progressive and highly contagious and dancing electronic rhythms, added to a certain melodic obscurity, sometimes somber and full of melancholy. They won several prizes and entered the Top 10 of the charts in Germany and Scandinavia.
The band is often touring with bands of the same style, mainly in Europe, North America, and Israel with bands such as VNV Nation, Beborn Beton and Icon of Coil.
