Barely begun, but am impressed already.
Listening to [2002] - Lembranças do Mal, a Crucificação and it's perfectly heavy, thick black metal. Sounds cool, especially the staggered off-timing drum techniques. More perhaps, much later after I've heard a lot more of this great big discography, generously shared with us by the mysterious vaniaradi... Thank you, vaniaradi!

Still haven't heard this whole discography. Have skipped around while mixing some "Thy Rites" into the playlist (incidentally -- thank you for that too vaniaradi! O'O'O')
Anyway, this Ocultan, has that heavy sound in the early elbums as I mentioned above, a death-black metal or black-death metal, but not arranged like Norwegian black metal... However, currently listening to 2005, and it's not deathy --- it's black metal. What I heard last night of the 2013 album, is also black metal, old style, harsh and crazy. I think there's something in here for fans of either black, or black-death. It's good!
Maybe an update after I've heard the whole thing a bunch of times. Cool.:. Brazil, Mexico, Portugal... Where will the next great blackened music be found...?
