Black Sun is a Hard Rock / Heavy Metal band from Guayaquil, Ecuador, established on 1999, who have delivered two professionally recorded full-length albums. Black Sun has received high praise, which has led the band to perform on the biggest stages in their country.

The band's first album, released on 2005, was listed inside the top 25 highest selling albums in Ecuador, promoted by "Metal Madness", the band's first hit single.

Black Sun decided to lift their standards for their second album, Dance of Elders, which was recorded at High Gain Studios in Hamburg, Germany. For this production, the band worked together with well-known musicians and producers like of Kai Hansen, Drik Schlächter, Henning Basse, Arne Lachenmacher and Lady Catman. The album was released locally on 2010 and internationally on 2012 along with the videoclip for the single Dehumanized. This album received overall high graded reviews over the international community, from the US to Spain to Russia and back to Ecuador. Some of the can be found here:

Black Sun has shared the stage with artists of the like of U.D.O (Udo Dirkschneider), Edguy, Mago de Oz and many more. The band has also headlined in Ecuador's biggest festival, QUITOFEST (more than 70,000 attendees during 3 days) and other local events like Guayaquil Rock Fest, Guaranda Metal fest, and many more.

New Album: Black Sun's latest production, The Puppeteer, continues the band upheaval to reach higher standards. It was Produced by Timo Tolkki and Santtu Lehtiniemi, recorded at Sonic Pump Studios in Helsinki, joining efforts once again with Mikko Karmila (Mixing) and Mika Jussila (Mastering) at Finnvox Studios; this collaboration promises to be an organic, explosive, Hard Rockin' delivery from the south american rockers!

This album also features the work of high praised guests musicians like Henning Basse (ex Metalium and new lead singer for Firewind) on vocal production, backup vocals and guest lead vocals on Vain, and marvelous artists like Nino Laurenne from Thunderstone (guest guitar solo), Netta Dahlberg (guest vocals on Let Me Be) and Santtu Lehtniniemi (guest solos). 'The Puppeteer' is, music wise, Black Sun's ultimate effort, hence, the cover art couldn't be left behind and it has been developed in conjunction with Thomas Ewerhard, a well-known artist who has elaborated countless designs and covers for great bands and festivals all over the world of Hard Rock and Metal.
